Post Graduate Medical Education

The Indus Hospital offers a structured training program for post-graduate medical education that is recognised by the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP).The program has received full accreditation for FCPS training in the following disciplines since August, 2009:

  • Anesthesiology
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Urology
  • Nephrology
  • Infectious Diseases

Training programs in these disciplines are developed on five tracks depending upon the eligibility requirements and the exit exam.

Based on this infrastructure, eight training programs in six specialties are currently in place at The Indus hospital for post graduate medical education. 

  • 01A      Four Years Residency for FCPS in Anesthesiology    
  • 01E      Two Years Residency for MCPS in Anesthesiology
  • 02B      Two Years Residency for Intermediate Module in General Surgery
  • 02C      Two Years Residency for FCPS in General Surgery
  • 03C      Four Years Residency for FCPS in Orthopedics
  • 04C      Four Years Residency for FCPS in Urology
  • 05C      Four Years Residency for FCPS in Nephrology
  • 06D      Two Years Fellowship for FCPS in Infectious Diseases

Much emphasis has been laid by our faculty to carefully design these training programs as per CPSP requirements with regular monitoring of the residents’ academic activities by our PGME office.

A system of bilateral assessment of supervisors and trainees has also been developed to improve and assess the program on frequent intervals. The implementation of the program has had a very positive impact on patient care at The Indus Hospital across various disciplines.

All PGME programs at The Indus Hospital commence on January 1 every year, for which applications are processed annually in October. The application form can be downloaded from this section during the recruitment season.
